Miyakojima City Police arrested a 54-year-old man working at National Miyako Nanseien Sanatorium, Wednesday, on suspicion of possessing pieces of dried plants that included illegal substances.

The man has explained to investigators, “I was smoking when I received this stuff in February, but I have not smoked since then.” He has admitted to the charges.

Police charge that the man had about 20-grams of dried plant pieces that included unlawful substances at his home around Feb. 9th this year. Miyako Police is still investigating details of the case including where he got the substances.
