Two Motobu men arrested for taxi robbery, assault
Nago Police arrested two men Sunday on suspicion of an assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Motobu Town.
According to the police, the two are suspected of kicking and hitting the taxi driver after taking a short ride, and then running away without paying a ¥500 fare in a residential area in Hamamoto, Motobu Town, early Sunday morning. The driver suffered a bruise on his face.
Both suspects are unemployed 32-year-old carpenters, one from Kitazato and the other from Gushiken in Motobu Town.
The men reportedly have denied the charges. The police is continuing an investigation in the case.
