Naha Police arrested a 74-year-old man on suspicion of fatally assaulting a 54-year-old woman on Jan. 12th.

According to police, three people, including the man and the woman, had been drinking in an apartment in Sobe, Naha City, Tuesday evening, and the man and the woman got into an argument.

Police received an emergency call about 19:50 from one of the men, and dispatched a patrol to the apartment. When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman lying unconscious on the floor. She was taken in a cardiac and respiratory arrest to a hospital where she was pronounced dead about an hour later.

When questioned, one of the men told police that he had hit the woman, and he was arrested on suspicion of an assault. He has admitted to the charges.
