Police ask public help to identity robbery suspect
Okinawa Prefectural Police is asking help from the public to identify the culprit of a robbery of a Lawson convenience store that took place in Ojyana, Ginowan City, last year. The prefectural police has released an image of the robber taken from a security camera in the store, and are asking for information.
The robbery took place about 4:45 in the morning on Dec. 4th. A man entered the store, threatened a worker with a knife and forced the staff put ¥40,000 from the cash register into a shoulder bag. He ran away from the scene on foot.
According to the camera image and an eyewitness, the robber is a male in his 20-40’s and about 170 cm tall. He is medium to skinny size. Police are asking anyone with information to call Ginowan Police at 098-898-0110.
