Prefecture presents largest initial budget bill ever
The Okinawa Prefectural Government approved the initial budget for the fiscal 2016 at a government board meeting on Feb. 8th, and presented the plan informally to each government department.
The total amount of the initial budget is the largest ever at ¥754.2 billion that sets a new record for the fifth time in a row.
In the budget, the Prefectural Government has earmarked ¥2.77 billion for the initial budget related to children’s poverty programs, and ¥22.7 billion for the project related to the “Asia Economic Strategy Plan.”
The regular prefectural assembly meeting is scheduled to start scrutiny on the budget items starting on the 16th of this month.
