Okinawa City Police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred in the Moromizato district of Okinawa City in the afternoon on May 20.

The victim, a man in his 80’s, told police that a man had intruded in his house, injured him, and ran away with some of his belongings. The victim had reportedly knife wounds on both of his arms, and was taken to an emergency hospital. His wounds are not life threatening.

Because of the incident, the Okinawa City Board of Education issued an address to twenty-four schools in the city advising parents and guardians to pay extra caution to the security of the children.
