A passing rain front brought heavy downpour to Okinawa main island on Monday and Tuesday, Jun. 13 and 14.

The Okinawa Metrological Agency issued a heavy rain and flash flood warning Tuesday morning to the southern part of Okinawa Island, and also warned of possible landslides in four southern cities and towns of Nanjo, Itoman, Nishihara and Yaese. In Itoman, a car was inundated and road closed because of floodwaters.

17 cities and towns in the central part of Okinawa were also issued a warning of heavy rains and 16 localities were warned of flash floods.
