A grand sumo tournament is scheduled for Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan, on Dec. 17 and 18, 2016.

The Japan Sumo Association decided to organize the tournament on Okinawa because of the good deception of the last year’s tour. The plan includes events, like a mini tournament by selected sumo wrestlers, as well as a show tournament featuring staged bouts between professional sumo wrestlers and kid wrestlers.

The sumo tour also includes the Ring Entering Ceremony by the grand champions, yokotsuna, at Nakagusuku Castle Site, one of World Heritage Sites on Okinawa, on Dec. 17th.

Stable Master Chiyoda, says rikishi are looking forward to welcoming a lot of people to enjoy the sumo tournament in Okinawa, specially the first day’s match that will be held in the evening.
