One month to go to 6th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival

6,702 participants from overseas, as of Sep. 26, have registered to be part of the 6th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival, according to the Organizing Committee Office that is the most ever.

30 municipalities in Okinawa Prefecture are planning a variety of welcoming events during the festival, and are making preparations to welcome the participants.

The largest number of participants is from the U.S., from where 3,964 people including 1,797 from Hawaii, have registered to attend. 979 people of Okinawan ancestry are expected to come from Brazil, in addition to those from Peru, Argentina, and Bolivia.

411 participants coming from Japan, from areas out of Okinawa, have also registered their attendance as well.
