Ginowan Tropical Beach has re-opened on Oct. 23 for swimmers after being closed after a pair of sharks was spotted off Chatan Sunset Beach a couple of weeks ago.

Since a fisherman caught a bull shark on Oct. 15th in Chatan and Chatan Fishermen’s Association caught three more on Oct. 19th, also off Chatan, and no more sightings have made near the beaches, the Tropical Beach Management Company, Ginowan Tourist Association, Ginowan Fishermen’s Cooperative and Chatan Town decided at a meeting on Oct. 21st to re-open the Tropical Beach on Oct. 23rd.

Chatan Town is scheduled to have a meeting on Oct. 27th, to consider re-opening the Sunset and Araha Beaches on Oct. 28th. Until the beaches are declared re-opened, officials ask people not to swim or fish at the beaches.
