A truly international festival will take place at Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) training center in Urasoe on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday Nov. 20.

The agency’s facility called Okinawa International Center was opened in 1985, and the center currently conducts about 50 training courses, to which about 600 persons mostly from developing countries in Asia and Africa participate every year.

The 2-day JICA festival is the largest international exchange event on the island, and about 7,000 people visit the event every year. The event features various ethnic singing and dance shows, and food from various regions of the world prepared by the JICA trainees.

The event runs from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Sunday. Admission to the event is free. JICA Okinawa International Center is located at 1143-1, Maeda, Urasoe City.

As the parking at the center is non-existen, visitors are advised to park on the roof parking of San-A Kyozuka City. A free shuttle bus leaves every 15 minutes from near the Starbucks entrance of the San-A. The ride to JICA main gate takes about 5 minutes.
