Two U.S. servicemen nabbed on suspicion of DUI

Two U.S. servicemen were arrested on suspicion of DUI in two separate cases Friday night and Saturday morning.

29-year-old U,S. Army Staff Sergeant stationed on Torii Station was arrested in Yomitan. According to police, the staff sergeant was stopped on a road in Yomitan and suspected of driving under the influence about 22:30 Friday evening. He has reportedly admitted to the charge.

A 23-year-old Marine from Camp Courtney in Uruma City was stopped about 2:20 in the morning on Saturday in Naha. He has been charged for driving while intoxicated. He has reportedly told the police that he thought he had been sobered up after taking a nap in his car before starting to drive.
