Okinawa FamilyMart has concluded a contract sell the entrance tickets for the 9th AKB48 “General Election” event scheduled for Chura Sun Beach in Tomigusuku, in June.

FamilyMart will put the 3,000 tickets on sale from the end of April on its FamiPort terminals in all of its stores. Detailed information on the sale, including the exact date of its start, will be announced later.

The AKB48 “General Election” will take place on Chura SUN Beach in Toyosaki, Tomigusuku. At the event, 80 candidate members for the all female group will be chosen, among whom 16 will be selected to sing on the group’s 49th single that goes for sale in August. The election is one of the group’s biggest events, and the third organized outside Tokyo. The two pervious local area events were in 2015 in Fukuoka and 2016 in Niigata.

Okinawa FamilyMart is a special sponsor of the event that is one of its 30th anniversary projects. Tickets will also be sold at FamilyMart stores in Taiwan.
