Okinawa City Police arrested 67-year-old Masanori Shimoji, Saturday, on suspicion of causing a bodily injury resulting in death.

According to police, Shimoji is suspected of pushing 51-year-old Naoki Nakandakari down a staircase causing him to strike his head on the floor around 2 a.m. Saturday. Nakandakari was taken unconscious to a hospital, and was confirmed dead at 6:58 p.m. on the same day.

According to investigators, the two men lived in a boarding house, and got in a squabble while in a shared space. Reportedly, Shimoji was drunk when the incident occurred.

Police say Shimoji has admitted to the charges.
