to fresh vegetables, everything is on sale.

The organizers of the Outlet Bargain Market in Onna Village are calling Sunday’s marketplace something really special, where Ryukyu glass will be on sale at terrific prices.

The Ryukyu glass, one of Okinawa’s top crafts along with pottery and lacquer ware, is made in Onna Village. The 10 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. Market is free, and will also featurie gourmet foods and vegetables.  The free market is part of a series of events along the northwest coast of Okinawa.  The market is at the NPO Corporation FUREAI NET Onna Office.

The Onna Sunset Sea Road & Onna Sun Set Sea Road Festival, is taking place on the old Route 58 from Seragaki to the Onna South crossing this weekend. Before the Onna bypass opened, the Onna Sun Set Sea Road was the main road connecting central and northern Okinawa, but now the shortcut is favored because of the improvements in travel speed.

The Onna folks are still enamored by the beautiful sunsets visible from the old sea road, which faces the East China Sea.  The Onna Sea Road Festival 2013 is an event being promoted now to get more people to travel the old road, and remember the beauty.
