Okinawa Kodomono-Kuni offers Saturzoo Nights

It’s a different perspective on a zoo’s animal inhabitants, but that’s what the zoo of Okinawa Kodomono-kuni is offering through September 1st.

SaturZoo Night is a time for the zoo to give visitors a peek at the lifestyle of most animals at night. Visitors have a chance to watch how animals spend their nights, and offers opportunities to participate in feeding animals. Zoo officials toss in a little plus for the SaturZoo Night; it’s a heckuva lot cooler than a daytime visit to the zoo.

The SaturZoo night is open until 9 p.m. on Saturdays, with last entry at 8 p.m. It’s a special deal, as the zoo usually is closed by 6 p.m.

A secondary action at Okinawa Kodomono-Kuni is the Secrets of Dinosaurs Exhibition in the Wonder Museum, located in a building next to the park entrance. Secrets and mysteries about dinosaurs are cleared up during a visit to the Wonder Museum, where there are moving dinosaurs models including T. Rex and Triceratops, the most powerful and ancient beasts. There’s even a ‘laboratory of dinosaurs’ study room for kids.

Entry to the Wonder Museum is separate from the basic zoo entry fee. The fee’s ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for 4th grades through high school students. The zoo’s Wonder Museum is open 9:30 a.m. ~ 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Haunted Night Museum on Saturdays starts at 5:;30 p.m. and runs to 8 p.m.
