Illustrator presents “Original Pictures” Exhibition

A collection or original pictures from picture books are on exhibit at Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum from Apr. 23 through Apr. 29.

The “Original Pictures” of Picture Books Exhibition coming to Okinawa April 23rd ~ 29th is the handiwork of an Okinawa-based illustrator and therapist.

The “Original Pictures” of Picture Books Exhibition is taking place at Prefectural Gallery 2 of the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum in Omoromachi district of Naha City.  Admission is free.  The exhibition runs 9 a.m. ~ 6 p.m. daily, except it remains open until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with entrance until 30 minutes before closing.

In this event, the works of Kiyoko Awaji will be exhibited. She was born in Tokyo and is a graduate from the department of the Nihon University Science-of-Arts. She is doing not only child therapy, but adult counseling as a therapist who tacks problems caused by emotional traumas suffered in the childhood. She has worked with more than 100,000 clinical cases on healing.  She gives lectures not only in Japan, but overseas about

This event exhibits the original pictures of the picture-book which she produced.  She calls it the opportunity for a child and an adult to consider the problems of mind and the body together.
