Mihama Manga Mega ‘Expo, a time for Okinawans and foreigners to dress as their favorite manga or anime characters, are waiting for the weekend and the latest event.

The Saturday and Sunday Mihama Manga Mega Expo runs noon ~ 7 p.m. both days, with admission free at Depot Island area in Chatan. Organizers promise a lively two days, and say visitors are welcome to do just about anything, including taking commemorative photographs, with photo sessions allowed, but no movie shoots, and absolutely no voyeur shoots are allowed.

The Manga Mega Expo has been a feature in Akihabara and Nihon-Bashi in Tokyo, and now also in Mihama.

All cosplayers should join because this is the heaven of cosplayers, paradise of Manga, the Japanese Comics. This festival is held in Distortion Fashion and OUK Fashion buildings in Depot Island complex in Mihama. The hall will be filled with events, such as anime, comics, freak and game shows.

Taking photos is OK, but you should speak to cosplayers before taking their photographs.

There’s also a science fiction, horror, gothic, comic, and fantasy movie convention. Cars fitting the theme of the event are also exhibited. In addition to a free costume play party, a anime and comics flea market takes place both days.

Beginner, children, family, otaku and foreign cosplayers are all welcome. About 15% of all cosplayers at the event have been foreigners every time in the past. Organizers remind visitors that must speak to cosplayers before taking their photographs. Taking a photograph without informing is a breach of etiquette.
