Helios Pub to feature craft beers fest this weekend

Helios Pub on Kokusai Street in Naha is the place for all craft beer lovers to sample suds from 25 breweries throughout the nation this weekend.

Lovers of microbrew and craft beers will have a feast this weekend when BeerFest Okinawa 2014 pops open the suds.

The event concentrates in Helios Pub on Kokusai Street both Saturday and Sunday, running from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The BeerFest Okinawa 2014 features 50 different beers from 25 breweries from Hokkaido to Okinawa. The Great Japan Beer Festival Okinawa 2014 Executive Committee is the sponsor of the event.

Advance tickets are now on sale for the BeerFest at Lawson and Family Mart convenience stores. There’s a limit of 500 participants each day. If the advance ticket sales count reaches 500, tickets will not be available at the door. Each ticket is ¥2,700 in advance and ¥2,900 at door.  Each includes six beer coupons, with which participants can purchase a 170cc glass of beer from the selection of 50 different beers. Additional coupons are available for ¥400 each.

This beer festival began in 1998 in Tokyo, working it’s way to Osaka, Yokosuka and Nagoya. These events are Japan’s largest beer events for the public to taste beers from the craft beer and microbrew industries. At Japan’s largest venue, the BeerFest Yokohama, the public can enjoy beers from several different countries throughout the world.
