The first Eisa Night takes place this Sunday at the Music Town Music Space starting 7 p.m. Admission to the event is free like all Eisa Nights.

Although this year’s rainy season seems to continue into eternity, another season is about to start. Okinawa City Tourism Association is hosting a series of Eisa Nights every weekend starting this Sunday and continuing until Saturday, Jul 26.

Eisa groups of Young Men’s Associations from various parts of the middle Okinawa (Chubu) perform in Okinawa City Eisa Nights.

The events take place at The Okinawa City Music Town this month, and in addition to various other venues in July.

Okinawa City was named the official “Eisa City” in a ceremony on July 13th, 2007.

The participating groups are local Young Men’s Associations from the Chubu area, and most of them will later take part in the annual All Okinawa Eisa Festival that takes place Aug. 16 and 17 at Okinawa Athletic Park in Moromisato.

All Eisa events are free of charge. Saturday events start 7:40 p.m. and events on Sunday at 7 p.m.
