Sunday market offers fresh fruit, vegetables

The key is to be able to talk directly to the growers.

The Yuntaku Morning Market is open this Sunday from 8 a.m. ~ 10 a.m., offering a wide variety of local products available only in Nanjo City, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.

The market has plenty of locally produced fruit and veggies that the producers sell straight themselves.

There are some 10 booths by local cafes and restaurants. Fresh fish is also available. During the event Nanjo City mascot character Nanji explains and introduces the booths.

After the market, starting 10 a.m. on the 2nd floor of the Nanjo City Local Products Building, the Brazil Fair will open at Cafe Wagan to celebrate the beginning of the FIFA Soccer World Cup. At the café, visitors can enjoy Brazilian Feijoada and Brazilian coffee while watching on large TV the World Cup match pitting Japan against the Republic of Ivory Coast.

Sponsored by the Nanjo City Tourism Association, the Sunday markets are to be held the third Sunday of each month.  Admission is free at the Nanjo City Local Products Building map: https://goo.gl/maps/NsNtF
