Savor autumn with Renaissance Italian dishes
Autumn is just around the corner, at least at the Renaissance Resort on Okinawa’s northwest coast, with the unveiling of Italian pasta and sweets inspired by the cool autumn themes.
It’s the Renaissance spotlight on Italian cuisine, with the new dishes unveiling in September. Spaghetti alla puttanesca with autumn salmon and Italian sausages is one of the chef’s recommended dishes, one of five different pastas and six sauces. Another specialty’s pesto pasta with Kume Island chicken and fresh ham.
Homemade fresh pasta is the Renaissance chef’s specialty, with each dish prepared in front of your eyes. Consider the homemade fettuccine with boletus mushrooms and foie gras cream sauce. There’s no going wrong with these genuine Italian specialties.
On Wednesdays, the restaurant has a limited special menu, including the mussels in white wine offerings which makes a perfect complement to your choices of the pasta dishes.
The second side of the Italian coin is the harvest sweets buffet. Temptingly tantalizing, the desserts line features more than 10 different cakes, including Mont Blanc and pumpkin chiffon cake. As if that’s not enough to whet the sweet tooth, the buffet also features more than 30 other types of tarts, mousses and jellies.
The Autumn Italian extravaganza is being offered Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as well as with its limited menu on Wednesdays. The specialties are being served noon to 3 p.m. The Italian buffet is ¥2,300 plus tax and service charge for adults and high school students, ¥1,610 for junior high school students, and ¥1,150 for elementary school students.
