Indian restaurant TAJ is a popular place for special parties as the chefs are more than willing to tailor a reasonably priced menu that fits the occasion.

The popular Indian restaurant TAJ, Yomitan Branch, is celebrating its first anniversary during the month of October by offering a 15 percent discount on all of its dinners through the end of the month.

The Yomitan Branch has also moved to new bigger premises next door to its original location. The restaurant has been popular among its customers because besides serving delicious lunch and dinner sets, it offers a possibility to reserve the entire restaurant for a private party with its experienced staff making a menu recommendation to fit the occasion.

For a casual diner TAJ has the always popular Ladies’ Set for ¥1,600, and TAJ Set B for ¥1,900. Spicy Fried Chicken Wings sell for ¥500 and Samosa costs ¥400. And naturally, patrons during October get the 15% from these prices as a part of the anniversary celebration.

To ensure the authenticy of the meals, the entire kitchen staff at TAJ Yomitan branch is from India as they are in their main restaurant in the Eagle Apartment Building in Chatan.

Chef Tarun Ratra leads the cooks. He trained and worked at a restaurant in a 5-star hotel of the Taj Group of Hotels in New Delhi, India. Eventually he moved to mainland Japan to cook curry, and eventually to Okinawa to bring his technique and unique taste to customers here.

Chef Ratra explains, “We have pride on our special curry. Our new branch is larger now, so everybody can use our restaurant for any occasion. Please tell us what your plan is and we will make your original event a success. Ratra adds he’s confident customers will “Like our real Indian dishes, the best in Okinawa for sure.”

TAJ’s Yomitan branch is open from 11 a.m. ~ 10 p.m. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and English menus are available. Payment in yen or dollars, and major credit cards are accepted. Their telephone number is 098-989-8625.
