Chikako Day has over 15 years of experience as a flute and piano teacher.

The Christmas holiday season is just around the corner, and the Mail Center at the Kadena BX wants to add a special touch for shoppers in early December, just to be sure everyone catches the spirit.

Chikako’s students will join her in the mini concert.

A Christmas Special Mini-Concert featuring flute performer and teacher Chikako Day takes place at 1:30 p.m. December 7^th on the first floor of the Kadena BX, right by the front door.

Chikako, who brings15+ years experience teaching flute and piano to students from toddler to young adults, will perform. A graduate of Wayland Baptist University in Texas and Ferris University in Yokohama, she’s studied and taught both in the U.S. and overseas, including a stint under Sonoko Mimura, a prominent Japanese flutist. In the past, Chikako performed flute with the Okinawa Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas City Orchestra, and the Yokohama Flute Ensemble. She also performs for wedding ceremonies.

She currently is teaching from own home, and also at the Schilling Community Center on Kadena Air Base.
