OIST hosts Chamber Music Winter Concert

With winter just around the corner, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology is presenting its 2014 Winter Concert featuring chamber music and ballet.

The evening soiree is Saturday, Nov. 22nd, at the OIST Auditorium.  Admission is free for the 2 p.m. concert, but reservations are required.  Reservations can be made beginning Nov. 10th online at http://oist.jp/reserve.

Four movements are on the program.  Quartet for Flute, Violin, Viola and Cello by W.A. Mozart leads the afternoon, which also includes M. Ravel’s Sonatine arranged for Harp, Flute and Viola.  The Pastorales de Noel for Harp, Violin and Cello by A. Jolivet is followed by the classic favorite, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.
