Bar Nikita invites everyone to join reviving Nakanomachi
Nikita owner calls it a ‘Free-style Girls Bar.’
It’s a place that is especially busy every weekend when many of its regular customers, an amicable mix of locals and foreigners gather to chat over a couple of drinks. What’s more, Nikita caters to customers with an all-girl staff.
Nikita is located in the heart of Okinawa City’s Nakanomachi entertainment district, and attracts its regulars time and again to relax at its extra-long bar counter that can seat 16 people. The friendly all-female staff serves drinks and is always ready to have a friendly chat with customers. All of the staff speaks English and are more than happy to practice.
Owner Justin Kinjo is really a fun guy, who’s present at his bar on most evenings. He loves to relax and joke with his customers. He says that his dream is to liven up Okinawa City and especially the Gate 2 Street area that has in recent years fallen on somewhat hard times. “So let’s enjoy and liven up Gate 2 Street together!” is his motto.
He stresses that it’s very important to have good manners because, “Only then we can make this area an awesome place where everyone is welcome and can have fun regardless of nationality or age.”
To find Bar Nikita can be a little difficult. It’s located on a small alley, one and half blocks away from Route 330, across from the street leading to Okinawa City Post Office and Okinawa Zoo. If you have lost your way, Kinjo says you are welcome to give Nikita a call, and they will guide you. The address is 1-14-12, Uechi, Okinawa City, and the phone number (098) 927-7773.
Yen, dollars, and major credit cards are accepted. Nikita’s business hours are from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on weekdays, and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekends. The bar is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
