Manuel Legris and the Wiener Staatsballett Dancers Okinawa Premium Gala
Ballet dancer and choreographer Manuel Legris is teaming with the Okinawa Times to bring an Okinawa Premium Gala to the island in early July.
Legris is leading the Wiener Staatsballett Dancers in a pair of performances at the Naha Civic Hall on July 3rd and 4th. The dancers will perform to Nureyev’s Swan Lake, Eifman’s Anna Karenina, Legris’ Donizetti Pas De Deux, Bejart’s Arepo, Dawson’s On the Nature of Daylight, Mazilier’s Le Corsaire, Bbenick’s Le Souffle de l’Esprit, Malandain’s Mozart a 2, Cauwenbergh’s Les Bourgeois, Balenchine’s Allegro Brillante, and Petit’s La Chauve-souris.
Born in Paris, Legris has danced as Danseur Etoile during 23 years at the Paris Opera. Since 2010, he’s been Director of the Wiener Staatsballet. His external charisma as Danseur Etoile keeps fascinating ballet fans from around the world. Legris is working actively in Japan, giving guest performances at the Tokyo Ballet.
Tickets are on sale at Family Marts, Ryubo Service Center, and through the Okinawa Times. Advance S tickets are ¥14,000, A seats ¥11,000, B seats ¥7,000, and C seats ¥4,000. Tickets at the door the day of the performances are ¥1,000 more.
