Kanaderu Park is block party to enjoy evening cool
Kanaderu Park is a music festival that takes place four times a year, once in every three months on Chuo Park Avenue in Okinawa City, on multiple outdoor stages set along the street.
The theme of the event this time is ‘a party to enjoy the evening cool with family.’ Because of the hot weather of the midsummer, event organizers have for the first time moved the schedule to start late afternoon.
An Okinawan girl duo Ryugu-no-Tsukai, meaning an “oarfish,” street performer Masa and an Eisa performance by members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Okinawa City will entertain people.
In addition, there are various kinds of other attractions prepared to entertain the whole family. Organizers welcome people wearing Yukata!
The Kanaderu Park takes place next Saturday, July 25th, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event is ran rain-or-shine, but incase of a typhoon or otherwise rough weather it will be cancelled. Admission to the event is free.
Chuo Park Avenue is a strip mall area that runs from Hwy 330 to Korinza Mall in Okinawa City.
