Okinawa International School ( O.I.S. ) will have an Open School on July 1st starting at 9:00am and ending at 1:00pm. It is a great opportunity to experience our unique curriculum, access our great faculty, and get a better understanding of the school.

O.I.S. was founded in 2003. It is a bilingual Japanese and English school authorized by the highly successful and globally accredited International Baccalaureate curriculum.

OIS differs from other International schools in Japan. Most International schools consist primarily of foreign students; therefore their curriculum is primarily English. We offer a unique environment for bilingual education and language acquisition. Because OIS is registered as a Japanese/English bilingual school, our curriculum is centered both in Japanese and in English. Students can receive a highly conducive bilingual education from our distinctly qualified educators. We at O.I.S. endeavor to empower students to become better informed members of the global community.

The Open School is a great opportunity to observe classes and to experience our unique curriculum.

At OIS learning is not left to the classroom alone, we export learning into the real world by engaging in activities such as investigative research projects, educational outbound trips and community service. By combining these activities with classroom learning we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our part in the world.

There will be open classes in;
Mathematics in English, Science Experiments in English and Elementary Inquiry Workshops.
