Chatan’s Nirai Shouhinken gift tokens are on sale
Chatan Chamber of Commerce is now selling “Nirai Shouhinken 2017,” a premium gift token with 11 coupons worth ¥11,000 total. The token is sold for ¥10,000 and can be used at member stores in Chatan.
Nirai Shouhinken project was started in 2015 to invigorate the local community. Chatan Tow has subsidized it since 2016. This year, the total cost of the project is estimated at ¥110 million, of which Chatan Town provides ¥100 million.
The member stores include supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and a variety of clothing and grocery stores, about 100 stores in total, but organizers expect that the member stores will increased to 180.
The gift tokens are sold to the public regardless whether the buyer is a Chatahn resident or not, up to five books per person. Some member stores prepare special gifts for purchase using the token coupons.
The gift tokens are sold every day through Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at Chatan Nirai Center. After Aug. 9th, they will be available at Chatan Chamber of Commerce Building. The tokens are available in limited quantity, and they are valid through Dec. 31.
