Egg dish contest to take place Sunday at Tembus Naha

“The First Egg 1 Grand-prix”, a contest to decide the best egg dish from 10 popular restaurants in Okinawa, is scheduled for Sunday on the public square in front of Tembus Naha on Kokusai Street. The contest starts at 11 a.m.

The contest is held to mark the 10th anniversary of Aug. 9th as “The Egg Day.” The Okinawa Poultry Association sponsors the event.

In the contest, chefs from the participating restaurants prepare and serve a variety of egg dishes, such as fried eggs, rice omelets, puddings, Swiss rolls, and more.

Public can purchase tickets costing ¥1,000 that are good for three dishes. At 5 p.m. people can vote to choose the champion.

In addition, a free lecture by Yukari, an egg sommelier, will be held starting from 1 p.m. at the Tembus Hall.
