A concrete-block wall that workers were demolishing collapsed on the yard of a private house in Kiyuna, Ginowan City, Sunday morning, burying 84-year-old resident of the house.

According to Ginowan Police, Shige Miyahira was killed in the accident. She was taken to a hospital, where she died shortly afterwards of her injuries.

Three workers were at the site using an excavator to demolish the wall.

Police say the concrete-block wall collapsed just after the work crew started the demolition work, and Miyahira who happened to be behind the wall was buried under the wall from waist down.

Police are investigating the accident details, including if there was any problem with safety of the work. and on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death.
