Magnet Contents to stage “Ship of the Ryukyu” performances
“Ship of the Ryukyu”, Okinawa performing art show by Magnet Contents is scheduled for this September, October, and next February at Tembus Naha and Palette Kumoji Civic Theater.
The series consists of four works by four directors. It’s sponsored by Okinawa Prefecture and Okinawa Culture Promotion Association, and is a part of the Okinawa Prefecture Culture and Tourism Promotion Strategy of 2017.
A mini-performance by 4 groups was held as a kick-off event at Pocket Park in front of Tembusu Naha last Saturday.
The two venues for the six performances this year are near Kokusai Street that is popular among tourists from all over the world. Daiichi Hirata, the show’s general producer, says, “I would like as many tourists as possible to experience the performing arts of Okinawa. This year we have selected works that an audience can see, touch, and experience. I hope that many visitors would come to enjoy the performance.”
The admission is ¥2,500 for adults, ¥2,000 for high school students and younger persons.
