Futsal tournament for disabled slated for January

“Mix Soccer Okinawa Cup 2018”, a futsal tournament with the all-star Ibaraki Prefecture disabled players’ team as a guest team, is scheduled to take place in the Kadena Town Sports Dome starting 10 a.m. on Jan. 7th. Team Blue Shisa of Okinawa is also participating.

Yuji Tedokon, a representative director of Ryukyu Sports Support, a sponsor of the event, said, “The Ibaraki Team has three players in the Japanese National Team. I would like to see all players, with or without disabilities, to play against them to show how good they are.”

Junior high school teams are included in the tournament, as are women’s teams.

Organizer invite participants to a soccer lesson for the visually impaired, PK tournament, and a special clinic by Ibaraki Team’s coach on Jan 6th.

Participation costs ¥10,000 per team for the futsal tournament. The soccer lesson and clinic is ¥500 per person or ¥3,000 per team.
