Okinawa Expressway Renewal Work Starts Jan. 7 in 2020
NEXCO, the company operating the Okinawa Expressway announces that Expressway renewal work start from January 7th in 2020 to March 31st in 2020 between Kin IC to Ginoza IC, and Ginoza IC to Kyoda IC. Two-way traffic regulation consecutive in the night and day that period.
Details of the lane regulation
Two lanes are temporarily reduced to one lane (two-way traffic) to facilitate replacement of the deck slabs.
※The construction sections are closed until the replacement of the floor slabs and pavement work is completed.
※The construction period is subject to change depending on weather.
※Please note that vehicles for construction work enter and leave the traffic regulation sections.
Request for support to users of the expressway
■ Please follow the traffic rules and the speed limit in regulation zones.
■ Keep distance to the vehicle ahead.
■ Two-way traffic are restricted all day and also rainy day.
■ Congestion is expected during the construction period, and travel through the regulation zone may take up to about 30 minutes, so please allow yourself enough travel time when setting out.
■ Two lanes reduce to one lane. It is dangerous to change lane immediately before the lanes merge, Change lane well in advance.
Parking on the expressway is prohibited. Please park at Service Area to use cellphone.
